The week with Ante Vidovic was one of the greatest experiences I had acquiring a new skill, which is how to command a sailing vessel safely. Ante was very patient with all our questions and mistakes and focused on hands on practice as much as possible. I felt we learned the all important skills, also from his experiences and mistakes in his long years career as a skipper. Even though we focused mostly on practical practice, with self-study in the evenings everyone who attended the exam for the B license passed! It was a lot of fun to train and relax with the other participants of which I consider as friends and hope to go out sailing again in some near future!

They showed us the facilities from the inside, and we even went sailing on a catamaran. Some of us had the chance to try steering the catamaran, which was a great experience. ⛵️Our faculty group spent the afternoon on two boats and truly enjoyed every part of it. There was a fun quiz with prizes, and some of us even got the chance to steer the boat ourselves. Even though the weather was cloudy, we made the most of it thanks to the great organization and professionalism of the instructors. It was clear from their presentation that they genuinely care about their clients and the quality of the experience they provide. Everything was well-prepared, useful, and enjoyable. Highly recommended! 🌊

We had an amazing experience at Croatia Sailing Academy! The hospitality was excellent, and the skippers were incredibly kind and professional. We went on a tour and they sailed us on a catamaran, and we even got to see a sailboat up close. This is definitely a place to book in the summer for an unforgettable experience!

Jako mi se svidjela vožnja katamaranom. Nisam ga vozila, ali sam uživala u plovidbi, ekipi i opuštenoj atmosferi. Instruktori su bili odlični i cijelo iskustvo je bilo stvarno ugodno.

Ivan our skipper did a great job to keep the team together, his knowledge of sailing needs no comments! Perfect! To understand the smoking behavior for non Croatians was a chellange and our yacht war a little worn out after a long charter season which could be point to improve for the future as well as time management. Finally I got my license! Intensive and costruttive course! We had the chance to practice lot of maneuver, especially docking that's the annoying part when you have to enter in a Marina. Our instructor Bartol gave us all the skills to do everything properly, from zero to hero, from sailing to all little details in maneuvering and prepare stuff. What a week… what a team… what a skipper! What started with mild skepticism quickly turned into one of the best weeks ever — full of joy, learning, questionable dance moves, and enough laughter to scare away any nearby fish. At first, I wasn’t entirely convinced the organisation would hold up (let’s just say “structured chaos” seemed to be the vibe). But then skipper Ante worked his magic — part captain, part therapist, part stand-up comedian — and somehow made it all flow perfectly. Now, imagine seven people on a forty-foot boat. Sounds tight? It was. Personal space became a shared concept, and privacy was something you waved at from another bay. But hey — that’s the Croatian way! 🇭🇷⛵️

The course itself was awsome. Whether permitting we got as much sailing as we could have but we also got expert instruction in side docking and med mooring with a lot of practice. Instructors with many years of experience and Infinite patiance. On the other note some of the organisational details of the course were not made clear on the web page before payment. My mistake was not asking for the full itinerary before hitting the button. I have achieved all i could have hoped for and would recommend the course for all the people who would like to start learning to sail and more important handle the boat of this size.

It was a great experience, mostly thanks to the best skipper(Ante) we could have asked for. He is an experienced and knowledgeable guy. He is also a very calm guy with a lot of patience for all the questions we had (some of which we asked multiple times). Sailing with a skipper like him gives you a boost of self-confidence, which you need when you're on a sailing boat as a beginner.

Wir Ware in der zweiten Septemberwoche zum Segeln in Kroatien. Unser Skipper Tommy war bereits vor Ort, als wir ankamen. Tommy hat sich um alles gekümmert, er hat die Yacht übernommen, wir haben uns kurz eingerichtet und dann ging es gleich los. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche. Tommy hat tolle Spots ausgesucht die wir angesteuert haben, sowohl zum Übernachten als auch zum Baden. Fazit: Tommy ist ein hervorragender Skipper, die oberste Priorität war die Sicherheit der Crew und der Yacht. Er kennt sich sehr gut aus, kennt die besten Plätze und die besten Restaurants. Wir kommen wieder - und hoffen dass Tommy uns wieder begleitet.

It was an amazing basic skipper course with Ivan! He gave everyone plenty of hands-on practice from tying simple knots and trimming the sails to steering, docking, and even handling the man on the port under docking pressure. Ivan managed everything smoothly and with a great sense of fun. He also knew the best local restaurants and even taught us how to fish. He took us to explore little mysteries like spotting things that looked like mermaids or aliens. All in all, it was the perfect mix of sailing lessons, party vibes, and vacation. Highly recommended!

Taking the Basic Course (Licence B) with Croatia Sailing Academy (16th - 23th of Aug) turned my holiday in Croatia into truly outstading experience. The mix of learning and exploring the Adriatic created a perfect balance between education and enjoyment. The course is very well strucutred to tech sailing basics and prepare for the licence B exam. What's important to mention, I can't imagine it being the same without our great crew and terrific skipper instructor - Ivan. His exeprience, calm confidence and patience in teaching deserve a special recognition. I fully recommeded Basic Course for everyone who wants to start sailing advneture.

Basic Sailing Course Evaluation – Croatia Sailing Academy, Pula (16–23 August) I recently attended the Basic Sailing Course at the Croatia Sailing Academy in Pula from August 16th to 23rd, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The course offered a well-balanced mix of theory and hands-on sailing, providing a solid foundation for anyone new to the sport. Our instructor, Ivan Benić, was exceptional—not only in teaching the core sailing skills with clarity and patience, but also in enriching the experience by sharing his deep knowledge of Croatian culture, history, and the local way of life. This added a unique and personal touch to the course that went far beyond basic sailing instruction. The overall atmosphere was incredibly positive, thanks in large part to the great team dynamic. The group was supportive and engaged, making the learning experience both productive and enjoyable. I highly recommend this course—and especially instructor Ivan Benić—to anyone looking for a well-rounded and memorable introduction to sailing.

We rented the Ninna Nanna, which was in good shape and we had very little complaints. Our boat technician Zeyko was very helpful and taking good care of us and the boat. All in all we had a fantastic time with Croatia Sailing Academy.

Naš skiper Tomislav Špehar bio je izvanredan! Njegova stručnost, znanje i prije svega pozitivan i vedar duh, učinio nam je ovoj jedrenje da se osjećamo sigurno i da uživamo svaki dan proveden na jedrilici u dobrom društvu. Skiper je bio strpljiv, ljubazan i uvijek spreman pomoći nam da uživamo u svakom trenutku. Uvijek su upitinici nad glavom kakvog skipera ćemo dobiti, jer realno, nije lako živjet 7 dana s nekim tko ti ne “legne”/odgovara kao osoba, u ovom slučaju, na prvi moment shvatili smo da dobivamo ne samo skipera, nego osmog člana naše ekipe. Rute koje smo prošli bile su spektakularne, a skiper nam je pokazao skrivene dragulje koje bismo teško uspjeli pronaći sami. U svakom slučaju, obratit ćemo se svakako ponovo istom skiperu na svakom našem novom putovanju! Tomo, hvala ti! 🫶🏼

Fantastic Beginner's Course! I'm just one day after completion (I also took and passed the Croatian B skipper certification) and strongly recommend this course to anyone looking to get a broad overview and basic experience sailing a boat in a beautiful environment. Our skipper, Gregor, guided us expertly both the fundamentals of technique AND mindset for safe, effective and enjoyable boating. I leave this course having sampled everything needed, a decent grasp of marine navigation and a strong desire to continue on. There was also ample opportunity to have a "working holiday" through swimming, great meals with my fellow crew, and excursions into towns and villages when moored. Money very well spent and I cannot recommend the school enough.

Was recently booked on the basic sailing course (7 days) and it was certainly better than I could've expected or asked for. The skipper (Gregor) was knowledgeable and informative, everyone passed their Class B test by the end of the trip. The trip itself was a fantastic mix of learning and fun, travelling around different destinations, some great swimming and meals cooked on board the ship. I would recommend this course, company and instructor Gregor to anyone that has an interest in sailing. Will look forward to coming back next year and maybe trying the advanced course.

My experience with Croatia Sailing Academy & trainer skipper Andreas was very good. I would say that Andreas was a very professional trainer, being able to explain and help improve my sailing skills while being a great instructor when we were at sea and also at the docking maneuvers. It was a good practice also for the hole crew on the boat.

We had individual tuition, that was tailored to our needs. Rueben was brilliant, just the right mix of education with fun!

I recently had an excellent sailing weekend with CSA, with everything in perfect condition from start to finish. A special mention goes to Emanuel Dellapicca, a top-notch instructor who truly made all the difference. I had the chance to practice many maneuvers over just a few days and received tons of great recommendations for restaurants and activities around the city and Istria. CSA will be my first choice for the next phases of my training. Until we meet again, indeed.

Our group of two couples and four children spent a week sailing along the Croatian coast with skipper Tomislav (Tommy) Špehar from the Croatia Sailing Academy. He knows the coast like the back of his hand, which is essential for selecting beautiful bays and charming towns along the route according to the available time. He is also very communicative, likeable, and humorous. He is also a skilled skipper. He is not bothered by anything, and he is happy to let "his crew" sail independently if they want to, and just makes sure that nobody sinks the ship or geht hurt. I had a really great experience on my course with the academy. I came to learn how to sail but I didn’t know what to expect in terms of how advanced or how in-depth it would be. My instructor Josip definitely went beyond what I had imagined. He didn’t just teach us how to drive the boat with the engine or how to sail the boat but he also taught us why the boat moves the way it does with the engine and how the wind actually moves through the sails so we can use it to move forward. He showed us a ton of different ways to maneuver the boat and went really far with his explanations, which I definitely enjoyed. So I learned a lot more than I thought I would and I’ve left my week with the academy as a more experienced and more knowledgeable sailor. Josip is the real deal, 10/10 🔥

Wir haben über Samboat bei Croatia Sailing Charter (gehört offenbar zu Croatia Sailing Academy) zu zweit eine kleine Yacht („fig“, 10,3 m) gechartert. Es hat alles prima geklappt. Die Charter-Crew ist hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend, ein tolles Team. Auf dem Schiff ist alles vorhanden, was da sein soll, was aber nicht selbstverständlich ist (Karten, Werkzeug, Ersatzteile, sogar ne Axt, Ankerball, Motorkegel, Geschirr aus Porzellan nicht aus Plastik). Check-In und Check-out strukturiert und sympathisch, Parken in der Marina kostenlos (die Marina liegt nicht direkt in Pula, etwa 15 min Fahrtzeit). Einziger Wermutstropfen war, dass das Schiff, gerade mal ein Jahr, nicht ganz in Schuss war. Die Ankerwinsch war defekt und wir mussten deshalb zurück kommen (wurde wirklich sehr schnell am nächsten Morgen getauscht, verhagelte uns aber unseren Törn-Plan) die Holeleine für das Roll-Groß war geflickt und verhakte sich immer wieder, der Deck-Strahler war defekt und der Motor machte manchmal vor dem Anlassen Zicken (angeblich ein Problem mit dem Relais). Auf diese technischen Fehler haben wir hingewiesen und uns wurde bedeutet, dass diese Fehler behoben werden. Wir unterstellen, dass bislang keiner diese Fehler gemeldet hatte, dann fallen sie auch nicht auf (von der geflickten Leine mal abgesehen). Deshalb auch die vollen 5 Sterne. Noch ein kleiner Wunsch: ich verstehe nicht, warum keine einzige (uns bekannte) Charter-Yacht in Kroatien am Navi-Tisch/Funk nicht ein Schild mit Name der Yacht, Call-Sign und MMSI hat.

Our skipper Steve Champion was the absolute best. Very knowledgeable and personable, and fit right into our group like we’d known him for years. We hope to sail with him again in the future. Wonderful experience - would highly recommend!

Alles war super und hat gut geklappt. Besonderes Lob möchten wir den Damen im Büro (Jelena und Andreja) unserem Yachtbetreuer (Eros Ušić) und unserem Instruktor (Luka Franjic - er war ein absoluter Fachmann und super nett) erteilen. Mit Luka haben wir zwei sehr angenehme und sehr lehrreiche Tage an Bord verbracht. Er ging vollumfänglich auf unser Wünsche ein. Und er war stets sehr ruhig und geduldig. Der Name "Croatia Sailing Academy" ist hier tatsächlich Programm und nicht übertrieben. Die Yacht war technisch top in Ordnung. Alles funktionierte wirklich einwandfrei. Es gab nur einen kleinen Reparaturbedarf im Verlauf der Charter. Das wurde von Eros aber sofort behoben. Also überhaupt kein Problem. Die Yachtübernahme war pünktlich und ohne Probleme. Eros erklärte bei Bedarf alles sehr gut. Auch bei der Rückgabe gab es keine Probleme. Alles ging reibungslos und flott. Die Korrespondenz über E-Mail mit Jelena und Andreja war sehr gut. Sie reagierten auf Anfragen immer sofort. Ebenso am Telefon, per WhatsApp und persönlich vor Ort. Das Boot segelt wunderbar schnell und reagiert auf jegliche Trimmung / Steuerung sofort. Wir hatten das Boot für eine Woche gechartert und waren im Wechsel immer zu dritt an Bord. Es gab wirklich nichts zu beanstanden. Gesagt sei auch noch, dass ich zwar schon den einen oder anderen Segeltörn hinter mir habe. Aber es war das erste Mal, dass ich selber ein Boot als Skipper gechartert hatte. Daher waren wir schon durchaus auf Unterstützung angewiesen, welche uns auch jederzeit gegeben wurde. Wir hatten nie das Gefühl, dass wir alleine gelassen sind. Wir werden das Boot (oder vielleicht auch ein anderes von Croatia Sailing) wieder chartern. Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Auch die Marina ist sehr in Ordnung. Ein paar Kleinigkeiten müssen noch gemacht werden. Insgesamt fühlten wir uns aber wohl. Sie liegt etwas abseits. Aber das ist ja bekannt. Unser Auto war also schon von Vorteil. Abschließend nochmals herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team von Croatia Sailing. Es war immer jemand für uns da. Und alle waren sehr hilfsbereit. Jederzeit wieder.
